The Warrior’s Journey is one of excitement and challenge. The peril for men in Spiritual Warfare is that we will become distracted by the battle with Satan and be content with less than what God purposes for us.
For example, a man may battle with the temptation of pornography. He is content that he has never had an affair nor even been inappropriate in his relationships. Finally by the grace of God he is released from the bondage of porn. Yet he still does not fulfill God’s best purpose for his life by making his wife feel like a queen by the way he loves, honors, and cherishes her. The victory over sin, which is a great victory, blinds him to what God’s perfect purpose is.
Spiritual Warfare is that spiritual battle with the Adversary who will do anything to keep us from God’s perfect will — God’s purposes for our lives. If Satan cannot keep us in sin, he will try to make us content with less than the best.
