Will Give You a Sign

Isaiah 7:14″Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”

I often wonder how the people of the time missed it so bad.  The only people to know of the birth of Christ were three wise men and a hand full of shepherds.  I realize that in that day not everybody had a Old Testament Bible sitting on the night stand.  During that time usually each large community had one copy of what we know as scripture.  The men would gather around with the Rabi and discuss for instance Isaiah.  They would talk about the prophecies, that pertained to the Messiah, how he would come and how he would die.  So how is it that the three wise men knew and no one else?  They traveled for several month by camel to get there just at the right time to see Immanuel.

There was a censis being conducted, a lot of people were busy, selling their goods, and others buying. The Inn was full of murchance doing their business.  So why did they not see the signs.

I think it was because the three wise men were the only ones looking.   Don’t get so busy at Christmas to miss the birth and all its magic.  Look for Christ, He will reveal Himself to you. Posted by Steve Waltrip

Christ Birth

9 12 2008

A couple of months after I became a Christian, I got to witness the birth of my second boy.  What is common place now, was new in 1980.  I missed the birth of our first boy because fathers were not allowed in the delivery room.  To say it was special would be an understatment.  It was an event that I will never forget.  It was as if God was standing in the room with me, and said this is the gift I have given to you.  I looked around to see if anyone heard the same thing I heard.  They just looked at me and thought silly daddy.

I would like to think Joseph felt the same way.  Could you emagine being there.  Do think Mary and Joseph know at the time what was takeing place?  Both of them had a visit from an angel, do you think they had any idea the King of Kings was laying in front of them.

I don’t think they really had a clue.  I’m not sure they would have been able to raise a King of Kings.  They just brought up the son of a carpenter.  I’m not sure I could have spanked The King of the Jews, could you?

Each Christmas I look at the Holy Birth in a different light.  I just boggles my mind to think the perfect plan of Grace came in the small form of an infant.     Posted by Steve Waltrip
